New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT)

The New Zealand Government is funding Climate Change-related activities in the Pacific Islands and is adopting programmes that include Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to climate change. Ecosystem Services assisted MFAT in undertaking a range of activities such as an analysis of the ‘state of NbS projects’ across the region, thereby identifying both geographic and sectoral gaps. The development of business cases, and the provision of technical support for the design of proposed project concepts supported both MFAT project management and the selected partner organisations. Project activities are currently being implemented.
